What is UCEED?

UCEED stands for “Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design”.

Why is UCEED conducted and by whom?

It is a test conducted by IIT Bombay under the guidance of UCEED-CEED Implementation Committee every year to offer admission to eligible candidates in Bachelor of Design (BDes) programmes.

What is the application fees for UCEED?

UCEED application fees is as follows-

  • For General Category students: ₹ 3500
  • For ST/SC/OBC students: ₹ 1750

What is the eligibility criteria for UCEED?

Students who have passed Class XII or equivalent from any stream are eligible to give UCEED.

What kind of an exam is UCEED?

The exam is basically meant to test your Visualisation and Spatial Ability, Environmental and Social Awareness, Observation and Design Sensitivity, Analytical and Logical Reasoning, Design Thinking, Language and Creativity, as well as Problem Solving skills.

When is UCEED conducted?

UCEED is conducted once a year tentatively in the month of January.

How many students sit for UCEED yearly?

Around 12,000 to 15,000 candidates appear annually for UCEED.

Is UCEED for Governmental or Non-Governmental college admissions?

Yes, UCEED’s score is considered for certain IITs and Non-Governmental universities and colleges for Bachelor of Design admissions.

For how long is UCEED score valid score?

UCEED score is valid for one year.

How many times can you appear for UCEED?

UCEED can be given twice, that too in 2 consecutive years.

What is the level of difficulty of UCEED?

The following statistics portray level of difficulty of UCEED:

  • Part-A Total Cut-off: 80
  • Part-B Total Cut-off: 6
  • Minimum Total Marks (Qualifying Marks): 100
