What is jewellery design?

Jewellery design is a profession where jewellery is designed and created. Jewellery design work involves working with precious metals, beads, gemstones and diamonds to create art pieces that are wearable.

In jewellery design study, you learn creative planning of jewels. You get familiar with metallurgy and gemology, theory and history of jewels. Jewellery design scope includes working as a jewellery designer for high end jewelers or creating an entire jewellery line for a mass market fashion designer. You can work in a manufacturing plant too. 

Jewellery design as a career also gives the option of selling jewellery yourself. You can try freelance working as well.
