Does NIFT have an entrance exam?

Yes, NIFT has its own entrance exams for Master’s and Bachelor’s admissions, which consists of 3 stages: GAT, CAT and situation test.

What is the level of difficulty for the NIFT entrance exam?

The difficulty level for NIFT’s entrance exam can be judged by its selection percentage which is 4000 out of 30000 aspirants.

When can I give exams?

The entrance exam for NIFT takes place in three stages one of them is before 12th board exams and the other two are after 12th board results. The first stage exam majorly takes place in the 3rd week of January, second stage is conducted in May or April.

GAT Syllabus

Quantitative Ability: Addition, Multiplication, Division, Fractions, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Work & Task, Ratio & Proportion and Distance

Communication Ability and English Comprehension: Synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one-word substitutes, idioms & phrases, correct spellings

CAT Syllabus

Discernment ability, Power of observation, Creativity in development of a thought, Design ability of the applicant.

Situation Test (Bachelors)

Model making and writing

Group Discussion (Masters), Personal Interview (Masters, F.tech)

Candidates must possess the following skills: Conceptual Clarity, Knowledge of the topic assigned, Contribution made to the topic, Interpersonal skills, Ability to generate new ideas, Problem-solving approach, Leadership qualities, Effective Communication.
