In our society, mental health is taboo. People don’t feel comfortable talking about various psychological issues with anyone. Most people give massive attention to their physical health but not to their mental health.

There are end numbers of problems, and negative thoughts go on in people’s minds like disturbed sleep, low mood, irritation, anxiety, anger, etc. but usually they don’t bother them and never discuss with anyone. Sometimes people don’t understand those symptoms due to a lack of awareness about mental health. If they don’t recognize the signs and get it addressed with a psychologist and if required, to a psychiatrist, it transforms into a severe mental illness.

If people can identify and address their mental issues to professionals at the right time they can save themselves and their near and dear ones from any psychological issues and illness. What is the need for mental health? If a person is psychologically positive and has a stable mind can handle the ups and downs of their life very quickly. Without creating any mental health as well as physical illness.

Dr. Shanu Srivastava is a psychologist with a Ph.D. degree & has trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy from Philadelphia, USA. She is currently a Senior Psychologist at a Delhi-based hospital and has written various articles in newspapers and presented her research papers at national and international conferences.
